Street Canvassing for Black Lives Matter (Rough Draft #02)

All right, we got a 10 minute shower. Maybe we’ll save that info for the end so they don’t know they’re in the shower with us. But okay 10 minutes is 1000 words. Its a challenge. A documentation. An auto-biography over time and a time capsule for the great, great grandkids one day. So what’s going on in your life what you thinking about in your life, both the individual life and also a communal life, whether you know it or not, you are physically connected to the ground, which is connected to the rest of the world. You want to talk about we are all connected. Look at your feet. Your feet are on a graph, the ground, none of us can fly. And if you’re in the air right now. Your feet are still grounded on something, so your feet. Your feet are touching something. All of our feet are most of unless you’re doing yoga I guess on the ground or stretching your feet or in the air, if you’re, you’re, we’re connected by our feet on the ground, on, on something or standing or laying down. Okay, enough of that.

But, really, our feet are on the ground and that’s how we’re connected by the ground of the planet. The planet which is floating through space and turning ever so softly, or, you know, it might be turning pretty quickly too but it’s all depending on where you’re looking from, you know, right here, it feels like the Earth is spinning and rotating very gently otherwise I won’t be able to stand up. You feel me?

Alright so today we’re going to speak three minutes to Black Lives Matter, a campaign that I believe at the end of the day, could be, an idea worth canvassing for like door to door for Black Lives Matter for structural equality and therefore, to bring to the streets the dialogue with people and listen and pitch structural equality, racial and economic equality, and to also film it all in POV. It’s the special package we offer. The particular set of skills…

EDIT: “If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don’t have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let my daughter go now, that’ll be the end of it.” (Guess this 1for movie maniac credits;)

So maybe that’s where we start with this thing. Obviously, raising POV camera glasses will be great, independently speaking, via a GoFundWe campaign that is for every 100 dollars raised one pair of POV camera glasses is purchased and sent to an activist on the streets of America. (Eyes across America) who is fighting every single day for the rest of our lives for structural equality. So yeah, maybe that’s it, to be precise of what is being offered as a full scale street povver operation, which we have 6 years experience doing already. I will spend all day out there, pitching Lifetime Memberships to Equality, justice and freedom, recruiting and signing up monthly members. For again, the lifetime membership to Black Lives Matter, which again, is the pursuit of real structural equality or whatever is the language chosen. Obviously, they create create the flyer that I bring to the streets, and the tiers and game, that I’m going to represent all day, all day I’ll talk and listen and meet and film with people and sign them up as BLM members and a membership card in the mail in 1 week (better than 2 weeks from BOA).

Side note: I would really like to swipe debit and credit cards but I don’t think we can do that with patreon.com. Maybe that’s better though so i don’t have to touch their or maybe it would be great if they could just swipe their card in the machine. I suppose that’s the one downside of doing street canvassing Patreon campaign. If we’re being completely analytical here. Do you want it to be able to swipe the credit card, or is it a bigger news story and campaign to do it with Patreon. PS. Patreon has just donated $50,000 to Black Lives Matter so the seed is in the Earth. That’s a good reason to at least test it on the street.

I personally have been doing Patreon for five years and working but more importantly working with independent artists as well to design and manage (engage and gamify) Patreon campaigns with their audiences. It’s about developing a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly communication strategy to be clear. And it’s about character too, about the game that you play with your with your fans, your members. What are you offering them every day, every week and voting is something discussed often. Letting the members of Black Lives Matter have a voice and be heard regularly. No matter what it is. It can be anything. Voting on who is the guest on the next podcast. Or Who do we go and interview for the, for the YouTube page. Art schedule kind of stuff. Who do we co sponsor something at some events with, or where we spend certain money it’s up to you in the end but the interaction is a huge part of the story. (Consider: Humans of New York’s Patreon Page #6 in the world)

In conclusion today on the holiday of June 19th, 2020, the three independent artists here are Alicia Garza, Patrisse Cullors, and Opal Tometi. These are the top three artists in the world right now. This is my belief. And that’s why we believe that Black Lives Matter can do what these others pages are doing on Patreon and quite possibly even much much more effectively.

A couple pages to check out are Chapo trap house on Patreon. That’s 30,000 patrons giving $5 a month. That’s $150,000, per month. In recurring revenue for their creative project. That’s $1.6. million dollars per year for a political podcast. Then there’s humans of New York at around $20,000 per month last we checked, in recurring patronage, monthly membership revenue. Those are the top two pages to check out on Patreon. Theoetically speaking these are, it’s important to note, Lifetime Memberships. And I don’t hear this ofter but it reminds me of a more formal kind of Lifetime Guarantee.

Ok las note, if I were out on the street canvassing for BLM every single day, wearing POV camera glasses and engaging with hundreds of people every day about what real structural, equality, justice, freedom, Liberty could look like in the future of this type of this country. What racial equality looks like what economic equality could look like. And the correlation between economic and racial equality. These are all fascinating dialogues to have with people on the street across the country. If I were doing that, I would, I wouldn’t have some sort of restriction on how much people can give to be members, you can do $1 per month. Most canvassers on the street in New York Greenpeace Planned Parenthood, their minimum membership is $30 per month, $20, per month. This is a lot of money for many, but for everyone out there, to be able to sign up as a lifetime member of Black Lives Matter. An essential kind of type of Lifetime Allyship. Why not let the students and the kids go $1 per month. Why can’t a 12 year old or a 14 year old who has a bank account Sign up for $1 per month. And you have different tiers of course. These members, these fans. The family. Black Lives Matter is a family now and FOREVER so that’s why I say daily vlogging daily blogging daily photos, interviews, daily daily daily, you can do all this stuff worse, pictures, videos, especially point of view videos on the street interacting with beautiful faces and having dialogues going across the country eventually. This is what I can do. So, I leave you with that.

Ciao for now. Yours truly yours creatively Yours sincerely. Yours enthusiastically forever in time.
